Abec 11 has created the largest skateboard wheel available, and probably the largest sensibly possible. They are:
- 90mm or 97mm tall
- 52mm wide with a 43mm contact patch
- 75a, 78a, or 81a
- Centerset with a spoked 45mm core
- Full skin, round lipped
These infamous, beefy hunks of thane were developed by the military for its SBAU (Speedboarder Attack Unit) to roll down hills destroyed by war to silently infiltrate enemy strongholds and drop explosives, bringng a new meaning to the term "hill-bombing".
Okay, not really, but they would probably work for that purpose. Set up correctly, Flywheels roll over anything not taller than it. Curbs, cracks, minefields, you name it. Their height always makes them incredibly fast, and round lips make it a perfect all-around wheel. They're good for everything from downhill to freeride, but excel in LDP. For the hearty LDP'er who needs to roll fast and not tire out quickly, handle chunder, potholes, and sidewalks, and take those downhill sections without footbraking, there is no other option. Flywheels slide smoothly and last for ages.
On the race track, and you'll have the acceleration advantage as well as the ability to take gnarly grass gaps and cheat to win.
Get yourself some mega wheels and never stop rolling.
Putting these on a top mount without multiple inches of rise is asking for wheelbite. Best used on dropped boards and luges.
Abec 11 says:
A big, smooth, tank-like wheel for rolling over everything in its path.
How they have been described by our customers:
